Service Terms & Project Policies
Clear expectations help projects run smoothly. These policies outline scheduling, deposits, billing, project conditions, and service expectations for all Hood River Handyman projects.
Our Policies

Estimates are based on the visible project conditions and information available at the time of inspection or consultation.
Unless otherwise stated in writing:
estimates are valid for 30 days
pricing may change due to material cost fluctuations, site conditions, scope revisions, or delays outside contractor control
estimates are not guarantees against concealed or unforeseen conditions
A detailed scope of work may be included in estimates, invoices, project proposals, or written communication.
Any work requested outside the original scope may result in additional charges and/or schedule adjustments.

Projects may require a deposit prior to scheduling. Deposit requirements vary depending on project size, material purchasing needs, and project complexity.
Deposits are used to:
reserve project time on the schedule
purchase materials
coordinate labor and preparation
secure project initiation
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
deposits become partially or fully non-refundable once materials are purchased, preparation begins, or project time is reserved
cancellations made within 5 business days of the scheduled project start date may forfeit some or all deposit funds
Deposit payments are applied toward the final project balance.
Submission of a deposit constitutes acceptance of these Service Terms & Project Policies.
Hood River Handyman is not responsible for delays caused by:
weather
supplier delays
hidden site conditions
permit delays
client-requested changes
subcontractor scheduling
utility interruptions
product availability
conditions outside reasonable contractor control
Reasonable schedule adjustments do not constitute breach of agreement.

Project scheduling is based on current workload, material availability, weather conditions, subcontractor coordination, and site readiness.
Estimated start dates and completion timelines are approximate and subject to change.
Hood River Handyman is not responsible for delays caused by:

subcontractor scheduling
utility interruptions
product availability
conditions outside reasonable contractor control
Reasonable schedule adjustments do not constitute breach of agreement.

Invoices are due upon receipt unless otherwise agreed in writing.
For larger or multi-phase projects, progress payments may be required throughout the project.
Outstanding balances not paid within 30 days may accrue interest at the maximum rate permitted under Washington State law.
Hood River Handyman reserves the right to:
pause work
reschedule work
withhold future scheduling
pursue collection remedies
for overdue balances or nonpayment.
The Client agrees to pay for:
completed labor
purchased materials
reserved project time
approved additional work

Unless otherwise stated in writing, all on-site service work is subject to a minimum service charge to account for scheduling, travel, setup, and operating costs.
Minimum charges may vary depending on:
travel distance
project type
emergency scheduling
specialty tools or equipment required

Projects may evolve as work progresses.
Additional work requested by the Client, or required due to unforeseen conditions, may result in:
additional charges
revised timelines
material adjustments
updated project scope
Whenever reasonably possible, additional work will be discussed before proceeding.
Verbal approvals, written approvals, text messages, emails, or payment toward additional work may constitute authorization to proceed.

Many repair and remodeling projects involve concealed conditions not visible during the estimating process.
Hood River Handyman is not responsible for:
hidden water damage
mold
rot
pest damage
code violations
structural deficiencies
hazardous materials
prior improper construction
concealed plumbing, electrical, or mechanical issues
Discovery of unforeseen conditions may require:
additional labor
revised pricing
subcontractor involvement
redesign
project delays
Additional corrective work beyond the original scope is billable.

The Client agrees to provide:
safe access to the property
access to utilities as needed
clear working areas
reasonable parking access
timely project decisions and approvals
Clients are responsible for securing:
pets
valuables
fragile items
restricted areas
Hood River Handyman is not responsible for damage caused by unsecured items, inaccessible work areas, or unsafe site conditions.

If the Client provides materials, fixtures, appliances, tile, paint, cabinetry, or hardware, Hood River Handyman is not responsible for:
manufacturer defects
missing parts
incorrect quantities
delayed deliveries
discontinued products
compatibility issues
warranty limitations
color or finish inconsistencies
Additional labor resulting from replacement, delay, modification, or incompatibility of client-supplied products may result in additional charges.

Certain projects may require specialized tools, equipment rentals, or material handling solutions to complete work safely and efficiently.
Where applicable, these costs may be billed to the project.
If tools or equipment are damaged due to unsafe site conditions, defective client-supplied materials, or misuse outside contractor control, repair or replacement costs may be billed accordingl

Hood River Handyman warrants workmanship for a limited period of 12 months from substantial completion unless otherwise stated in writing.
This warranty does not cover:
normal wear and tear
settling or structural movement
moisture intrusion from existing conditions
manufacturer defects
misuse or neglect
lack of maintenance
acts of nature
work modified by others after completion
Warranty claims are limited to repair or correction of original workmanship only.
No additional warranties are expressed or implied unless provided in writing.

Hood River Handyman reserves the right to pause, reschedule, or terminate work for:
unsafe working conditions
nonpayment
excessive scope changes
inaccessible work areas
abusive behavior
hazardous site conditions
repeated scheduling conflicts
Outstanding balances remain due for completed labor, purchased materials, and reserved project time.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hood River Handyman shall not be liable for:
incidental damages
consequential damages
lost business income
hidden structural failures
pre-existing defects
product manufacturer failures
delays outside reasonable control
Liability, if any, shall be limited to the value of labor directly provided under the applicable project agreement.

These Service Terms & Project Policies shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington.

Approval of an estimate, scheduling of work, submission of payment, or continued authorization to proceed with work constitutes electronic acceptance of these Service Terms & Project Policies.
